BY SOUTHGREY.CA STAFF — This summer, the West Grey Youth Centre celebrated its first full year as an incorporated not-for-profit organization and have continued to build momentum in the community. Fall programs for grades 7 and 8 are in full swing.
The Creative Collective! features a variety of fun learning activities, including fitness, music, cooking and crafts every Tuesday from 3:30 - 5:30 pm.
So far, participants have enjoyed everything from yoga to painting, as well as created some delicious meals made with locally-sourced veggies. The centre is also looking for donations of percussion instruments of every kind to fill out their supplies.
This week, things get spooky in the sweetest way possible. Orchard-fresh pumpkins for carving and crisp local apples for candying, make this a special Halloween experience.
Gaming Night began October 16 and runs until December 18 and features board games, card games, Dungeons and Dragons, fun and snacks every Thursday night from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
All activities happen at the Durham Presbyterian Church at 205 Lambton Street East in Durham.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
