West Grey Library celebrates summer readers

The TD Summer Reading Club ends this week at the West Grey Library, and the Library is celebrating the community’s great junior readers! End of Summer Parties were planned at each branch, Ayton's party was on Tuesday, August 22, Neustadt on Thursday, August 24 and Durham on Friday, August 25th. All were planned from 2-3pm. Those who have Reading Club passports or forms are invited to bring them back, claim their final prize and enjoy some treats and activities. Those who got a late start can also get a leg up by completing extra activities — drop into the local branch to find out more. Registration for the End of Year Party by email: kids@westgreylibrary.com or call 519.369.2107.

And for adults, the Cross Canada READ Trip ends August 31st. Readers can enter either the 'Summer’s-end' level for reading five books (or listening to audiotapes), each from a different province or territory or the ‘Are We There Yet?’ level, for reading 10 items. Draw from completed entries will take place on September 5. Entries may be submitted at any branch or by email: adultprograms@westgreylibrary.com.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
