West Grey Library’s giving patrons and visitors some great tools to start the New Year off on the right foot.
On Wednesday, Jan 11 at 10:30 am, participants can create their own vision board as part of the Library’s new self-care series. Meditation runs this month on Saturdays, starting at 10:30 am. Art for the Utterly New beginner class is offered on Jan 16, starting at 4:30 pm, The Appeal of Crystals on Wednesday, Jan 17 at 4 pm and Fraud Awareness, with a volunteer from the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre is offered on Thursday, Jan 18 at 2:30 pm.
Of course, there are lots of ongoing programs for all ages, from LEGO Club to the Knitting Club, and with Book Clubs in two branches. The Library’s in-residence experts continue their Wednesday morning drop-in visits: from Indigenous culture to gardening to history to getting that book published to the environment — someone is at the Durham Branch each Wednesday morning for informal conversation. And the Library’s Grab and Go and Take & Make craft kits continue, thanks to the Friends of the Library.
Most programs require easy pre-registration: contact kids@westgreylibrary.com for kids’ programs, adultprograms@westgreylibrary.com for adults, and visit Eventbrite for both. Or you can call 519.369.2107. Craft kits and in-residence visits don’t require pre-registration.
At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
