West Grey Library Jigsaw Puzzle Contest 'fits' the bill

West Grey Public Library Jigsaw Puzzle Contest participants

West Grey Library’s second Jigsaw Puzzle Contest saw a fun and friendly crowd make the most of a slushy day.

Sibling team Marisol and Amalia took the top prize, completing their 500-piece mystery puzzle in an amazing 45 minutes, topping a group of 9 teams. It was all good fun as a fundraiser for the West Grey Library, and the feedback was heart-warmingly positive.

February’s adult programs will start with Internet and Password Safety with a volunteer from the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre on Thursday, February 1st at 2:30pm. Oil Painting for the Confident Beginner is on Saturday, February 3rd starting at 10:30 am. Pre-registration is recommended.

This month there will be a ‘count the hearts’ competition at each branch, counting the candies in a jar. Guess what the prize is? Yup – the jar of candies! That starts February 8th.

Through the month there will be sessions on oil painting, beekeeping, creative writing, gardening, journaling, and even winter raptors! There’s also a chance for adults to listen to staff reading from Emily Carr’s The Book of Small. All activities are on the Library’s website and registration is available on Eventbrite, as well as in person or by phone 519.369.2107 or email

Craft kits and in-residence visits don’t require pre-registration.
