During the week of March 10-31, 2022, the West Grey Police Service responded to 242 total calls for service.

  • 15 – 911 Calls

  • 5 – Domestic / Family Disputes
  • 9 – Mental Health Act
  • 10 – Motor Vehicle Collisions
  • 63 – Police Information / Assistance Calls
  • 2 – Break and Enter
  • 2 – Assaults
  • 3 – Stolen Vehicles
  • 19 – Suspicious Persons / Vehicles
  • 5 – Theft Complaints
  • 6 – Warrants executed (Arrest Warrants)
  • 19 – Traffic Hazards / Traffic Enforcements
  • 4 – Neighbour Disputes
  • 2 – Harassment Complaints
  • 5 – Ambulance / Fire Assistance
  • 5 – Recovered Stolen Automobiles
  • 1 – Police Pursuit

March 10, 2022 - West Grey Police executed an Arrest Warrant on a 43-year-old female from Hanover, Ontario. The woman was brought before the Ontario Court of Justice on an outstanding charge of Theft Under $ 5,000.00.

March 29, 2022 – West Grey Police were called to an address on the Normanby Bentick Towline after the victim reported that their vehicle had been stolen. Police located the stolen vehicle and initiated a suspect track. A short time later the suspect was located hiding in a wooded area.

A 36-year-old male of no fixed address was arrested and is charged with:

  • Theft Under $ 5,000.00 (2 counts)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.

March 29, 2022 – West Grey Police were called to an address in response to a domestic disturbance situation. As a result of investigation a 27-year-old male from West Grey was arrested and is charged with:

  • Uttering Threats
  • Aggravated Sexual Assault

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing by police, but was later released by the Ontario Court of Justice.
