Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario has announced an incredible milestone for this year’s Walk for PD, raising an impressive $506,977 to support individuals impacted by Parkinson’s disease across the region. This remarkable achievement reflects the unwavering dedication of our sponsors, nearly 200 volunteers, and over 1,800 participants, all committed to creating a brighter future for the Parkinson’s community in Southwestern Ontario.

On September 7 and 8, participants from 14 locations across Southwestern Ontario came together to walk in support of Parkinson’s disease, raising both funds and awareness. Families and friends enjoyed a day filled with fun activities, entertainment, and refreshments while making meaningful contributions. Every dollar raised stays local, helping to fund essential programs and services, as well as research, education, and advocacy efforts that support over 10,000 people living with Parkinson’s in the region.

As we celebrate this achievement, our resolve to make a difference remains stronger than ever. We are committed to advancing our mission and envisioning a future where Parkinson’s disease no longer affects the lives of so many.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
