Stolen vehicles valued at $2.3 million recovered in Chatsworth Township

One individual is facing charges following a property-related investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On January 15, 2025, members of the Grey Bruce OPP CSCU identified a property located on Sideroad 5 in Chatsworth Township, which was found to contain a significant number of stolen commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). The Grey Bruce OPP CSCU executed a search warrant at the site, where they recovered four stolen tractor-trailer trucks, thirty-five stolen CMV tra ilers, and additional stolen vehicles in various stages of disassembly. The total value of the recovered stolen property is estimated at over $2.3 million.

Amardeep BHAATI, 41-years-old of Grand Valley is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 - in Canada (51 counts)
  • Altering/destroying/removing a vehicle identification number (8 counts)
  • Fraudulent concealment (8 counts)

The accused was arrested and released and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on February 27, 2025.
