BY SOUTHGREY.CA STAFF — As of December 31, 2025, South Grey News will cease operations. After sincere and difficult consideration, recent health issues have strengthened our resolve to retire the website and move on to other projects.
Since June, 2017, we have endeavoured to bring you factual, up-to-date local news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We hope that, as this service closes, you will find other equally reliable information sources and strong community platforms to entertain and inform you.
We want to thank our readers for their loyal support over the past eight years.
There has been so much to look back on. From our reporting on the COVID-19 pandemic that dominated the news throughout 2020-22, to Grey County Reads, our very own literary contest featuring local authors and community champions, we hope that we have made this area a better and more informed place in which to live.
We also thank our advertisers, who have helped us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community. Your contribution played a key role in the success of our initiative.
And to our contributors — your words and stories have elevated the quality and depth of this publication. Each editorial submission has provided essential knowledge that can shape practices, inform policy, and foster understanding. Please continue to use these powerful tools for education, connection, and inspiring action.
This is a difficult end, but the memories and efforts we shared mean the world. Thank you for everything.
Sincerely,
Ron Barnett

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
