OPP advise snow squalls expected — travel only if necessary on Thursday November 27, 2025

Stay safe while driving in winter

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is advising residents and travelers to prepare for significant winter weather conditions on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Snow squalls are forecasted to impact the region, with accumulations of up to 40 centimetres expected in some areas.

These conditions will create dangerous driving situations, including reduced visibility and rapidly changing road conditions.

Grey Bruce OPP advises everyone to ensure they are prepared and take the following precautions:

  • Avoid unnecessary travel. If you don't need to be on the roads, stay home.
  • If travel is essential, plan ahead and allow extra time to reach your destination safely.
  • Pack an emergency kit including blankets, food, water, and a fully charged phone in case of delays or emergencies.
  • Ensure your vehicle is winter-ready with proper tires, sufficient fuel, and working lights.
  • Abide by all road closures and detours. They are in place for your safety and the safety of others.

Your safety is our priority. Please monitor weather updates and road conditions before heading out.

Together, we can reduce risks and keep our community safe.

For real-time updates, visit Ontario511.ca or follow Grey Bruce OPP on social media.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
