September 8, 2025, at approximately 12:45 am, Hanover officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on 10th Avenue in the Town of Hanover.
The investigation determined the male driver was not who he claimed he was, and in fact impersonated another person who resided in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The male was subsequently arrested and returned to police cells.
A search of the rental vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cocaine and a quantity of methamphetamine with a combined street value of approximately $15,700 along with over $11,000 in Canadian currency.
The male was eventually identified eight hours after his arrest by investigators using police record searches. Officers learned the suspect in their custody was a 26-year-old, from Mississauga.
The suspect, was held in police cells for a bail hearing and later remanded into custody. He faces charges of Personation, Obstruct a Peace Officer, Fail to Comply with Probation, and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. He faces further charges under the Highway Traffic Act for Driving Under Suspension and Driver Fail to Give Identification.
Further charges are pending in this case as investigators continue to examine other evidence that was seized.
