During the week of March 23 - 30, 2023 - the West Grey Police Service responded to 68 total calls for service.

  • 2 – Mental Health Act
  • 6 – Motor Vehicle Collisions
  • 13 – Police Information / Assistance Calls
  • 2 – Assault
  • 2 – Stolen Vehicles / Recovered Stolen
  • 4 – Warrants
  • 4 – Suspicious Persons / Vehicles
  • 3 – Theft
  • 4 – Traffic Hazards / Traffic Enforcements
  • 1 – Fraud
  • 1 – Bail Violation
  • 2 – Harassment
  • 2 – Break and Enter

On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, West Grey Police were called to a reported vehicle in the ditch on Varney Road, West Grey. When officers arrived two occupants had fled the scene. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen. Officers conducted a search and located and arrested two suspects.

A 23-year-old male and a 32-year-old male from Mount Forest were arrested and have been charged with:

  • Adult – Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $ 5,000

The 23-year-old accused was processed and later released. The 32-year-old accused was held for a Bail Hearing and remains in custody on this matter and outstanding warrants with Guelph Police, South Bruce OPP, and Hanover Police.

On Wednesday March 29, 2023, West Grey Police responded to a Break and Enter in progress on Glenwood Avenue, West Grey. The suspect had fled the scene, but was located a short time later by West Grey and OPP officers.

A 28-year old of No Fixed Address was arrested and has been charged with

  • Adult – Break, Enter and commit indictable offence.
  • Adult – Breach of Recognizance

The accused was processed and later released. He will appear in the OCJ – Walkerton at a later date.
