BY SOUTHGREY.CA STAFF — She may be channeling a little Chris Isaak in her latest smokey single release but one thing is for sure, Paige Warner continues to develop her sound and create beautiful music in the process. While evoking a nostalgic tone, Lose Lose has a freshness of which Paige has a knack.
"The song is about love, as most songs are, but not a happy romance, and not even the utter despair of a break-up. Rather, Lose Lose is about the nuance and grey area that so many relationships truly live and die in," said Warner as she explained the inspiration behind her latest offering. "It’s not always an obvious choice to leave someone. Sometimes it just comes down to choosing the lesser of two evils."
Warner struggled to categorize her single into a suitable genre, so coined the ever-fitting “Outlaw Blues-Pop”. The track was another collaboration with the talented producer, Craig Smith. Playing into blues-rock and outlaw country sounds, while maintaining ear-worm pop hooks and floating soul-inspired vocals, Lose Lose is bound to make a splash in the Canadian music scene. A product to come out of Warner’s quaint hometown in Grey County, Ontario.
The single, Lose Lose will hit the streets on October 21 and a release show is planned for the same evening at Heartwood Concert Hall in Owen Sound. Doors open at 7:30 pm with the show starting at 8:30 pm. Tickets for the event are $15 online or $20 at the door. Look for it on your favourite music platform. Check out Paige Warner's website for more music and merchandise too.
