Paige Warner takes the Annesley stage on December 29 to sing Christmas classics

Peace on Earth — Music for the Holidays

BY SOUTHGREY.CA STAFF

Twas four days after Christmas and all through the church,
Many people were sitting, waiting for to emerge,
Four players with instruments strung and practiced with care,
And hopes that Paige Warner soon would be there.

And so the poem will go on December 29 at the Annesley United Church in Markdale, when Paige Warner and her four-piece band take the stage to perform Christmas classics, current holiday hits, and jazzy spins on your favourite carols.

Stephen C. Warner will play piano and organ and has an impressive record as a versatile artist and composer. Having Released two solo piano albums of his own — Sea Of Glass and Christmas, Stephen plays a pivotal role as a core member of Paige's support ensemble.

Marty Sinclair is a longtime student of euphony with several commercial music and jazz credits to his name. His passion for drums has led him to accompany his many musician friends, Paige Warner among them.

Tyler Wagler is best known as a founding member of modern roots reggae band The Human Rights, releasing three albums and touring Canada and the US. He is also a busy sideman having worked with Joni Nehrita, Alysha Brilla, Tia Brazda, Tannis Slimmon, Friendly Rich and The Lollipop People, David Sereda, Lillian Allen, Paul Quarrington, Jay Douglas, Lorraine Segato and others. Tyler will accompany Paige on upright bass.

Paige Warner has built a strong name for herself, performing on stages such as Massey Hall’s TD Music Hall, Yonge-Dundas Square, NXNE, Owen Sound’s Summerfolk, Harbour Nights, and opening for iconic artists such as Ron Sexsmith and Monowhales. She creates alt-pop music with soul-inspired vocal licks layered on poetic lyrics but unabashedly claims that Christmas music is one of her favourite genres.

The concert is called Peace on Earth — Music for the Holidays and is a presentation of Annesley Events. It will have an early start at 6 pm, with doors open at 5 pm. Tickets are $25 each or $30 at the door. The performance will also be live-streamed and recorded for later viewing. Tickets to watch online are $15 each and the recording will remain available to watch for many months after-the-fact.

Tickets make for a thoughtful gift this holiday season, as the event promises to be a fun family outing. Big Cheese Pizza will be available before the concert and during intermission, as well.

For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the Annesley Events website.
