Building community in the Township of Southgate through Neighbourhood Small Grants

Southgate Neighbourhood Small Grants

Community Foundation Grey Bruce (CFGB) has announced that Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG) are being offered for the first time to residents of the Township of Southgate.

Stuart Reid, Executive Director of CFGB says “Neighbourhood Small Grants is grassroots grant-making to support people making positive changes in their community. NSG's empower community members to bring their neighbours together, create new connections, and make their community a better place to live.”

The $500 grants are being offered thanks to the Southgate Community Fund. “We’re accepting applications from any group of at least two residents of Southgate that have a project in mind that will create connections. It could be neighbours, an event committee, or a local recreation group.” says Jennifer Isber-Legge, Grants Coordinator at CFGB.

CFGB is hosting a virtual information session on March 13 at noon. Residents of the Township of Southgate are encouraged to visit the website, communityfoundationgreybruce.com for grant eligibility and to register for the information session. The deadline to apply to Southgate NSG is April 15, 2024.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
