LETTER TO THE EDITOR — IMAGINE.... if all the politicians in our parliament that represent us, had constructive discussions as the norm.
Imagine if the Prime Minister asked the leader of the opposition for additions to bills being debated. Imagine if the leader of the opposition suggested improvements in a constructive tone.
What if compromise and cooperation were the norm in parliament. Imagine if our elected officials worked together for a better Canada and listened, rather than attacked each other.
Imagine if MP's were sitting randomly amongst their peers rather than in confrontational blocks.
Canada needs to be united right now, more than ever.
If the elected officials truly want to represent all Canadians, then they must listen to their constituents and listen to each other.
Unfortunately our system has developed into a 'WIN - LOSE' system, all Canadians know that progress is only possible in a 'WIN-WIN' system.
Prime Minister Carney, Mr. Poilievre and every elected official, please talk to your co-workers and fellow Canadians and really make Canada stronger.
I urge everyone to write their MP and the leader of the party that they support, with this message.
The election is over, it is definitely time all that all of our elected officials work together... constructively... for a united Canada.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
