Hanover Police arrest suspect after incidents involving youth

Hanover Police badge

Hanover Police Service has arrested a male suspect in connection with two troubling incidents involving youth in the Town of Hanover.

On October 2, 2025, between 4 pm and 6:30 pm police investigated two separate reports near Hanover Aerial Gymnastics and Hanover Heights Public School where it was reported that a male suspect was watching young females, driving erratically and had committed an indecent act.

Following an investigation, a 25-year-old of Walkerton but formerly of Waterloo was arrested on October 3, 2025, late in the afternoon, following a traffic stop in the Town of Hanover. He was taken into custody by Hanover Police investigators and uniformed officers without incident. Hill faces charges of Indecent Act, Criminal Harassment x 4, Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle, and Stunt Driving. Hill was held for a bail hearing and later remanded into custody on the charges.

The suspect’s motor vehicle was seized under the Highway Traffic Act and towed to a secure compound. It will remain impounded at the owner’s expense until the conclusion of the court proceeding or as otherwise directed by the courts.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police believe there may be related incidents in the Town of Hanover and other jurisdictions. Hanover Police urge parents to speak with their children about safety and report any suspicious activity.

We would also like to thank those citizens who registered their surveillance cameras on Camsafe.ca, as their footage played a role in this investigation and the timely arrest of this suspect.
