West Grey Library has you covered, whether you’re itching for company or want to snuggle down at home.
The Library’s book clubs offer a chance for readers to take on new authors and genres. Durham has a daytime book club on the third Thursday of the month, and an evening club on the last Thursday of each month. Neustadt also offers a daytime book club on the fourth Tuesday of the month. No charge; pre-registration.
If you have mobility restrictions, a physical or visual disability, or a long-term illness, you could be eligible to receive up to four library items a month — books, large-print, audiobooks, or Playaways via Canada Post, plus everything you need to return them the same way (including postage). Call 519-369-2107 to learn more.
Or visit the West Grey Library website for a test-drive of the Niche Academy, under 'Resources', for quick videos explaining everything from how to open a Gmail account to information on the Library's resources like Kanopy (movies) and Libby (books and magazines), to how to make the most out of your social media accounts. Mysteries explained in a minute — free!
And Library staff will be on hand at this Saturday’s Ayton Craft Bazaar, 10am to 3pm at Normanby Arena, 112102 Grey Rd 3, Ayton. No admission fee. Drop by, say hello, and pick up a grab bag (while supplies last)!
To pre-register for adult programs: adultprogram@westgreylibrary.com or 519-369-2107.
At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
