Hanover surveillance camera registrations tops in Southwestern Ontario

home security camera.

The Hanover Police Service is pleased to announce that the Town of Hanover has the highest number of surveillance camera registrations of any community in Southwestern Ontario on the Camsafe.ca website.

The Camsafe.ca website allows property owners, citizens and businesses to register their surveillance cameras on the website, providing police investigators with timely access to contact information of those who own or control the camera footage.

By registering your cameras on the site, it does not authorize police to access live feeds of the camera footage directly, but merely provides the contact information of the camera owner so that police can arrange to view the video should they believe it will further an investigation.

Video evidence will often help locate a missing person, identify suspects and witnesses in an unsolved case, locate stolen property and much more.

Hanover Police Service investigators have been provided access to the site and continue to encourage those with surveillance cameras, doorbell cameras or any other cameras to register. The registration takes minutes to complete that will help make our community safer and more secure.

Please check out Camsafe.ca for further details and consider registering your cameras today.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
