Hanover Police Service investigators have recovered the 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser that was involved in a fatal hit and run collision on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 5:20 pm in the Town of Hanover.
The vehicle was destroyed by fire in a bush lot on Sideroad 25 in the former Brant Township just north of Morry’s Trailer Sales. The vehicle has since been examined by OPP officers with the Forensic Identification Services based out of Mount Forest.
Hanover Police investigators would like to speak with anyone who saw the smoke, the PT Cruiser or anyone in the area last Wednesday evening shortly after the collision. Investigators are also appealing for anyone with surveillance video (business, residential, trail cams or dashcam) to check for the PT Cruiser from Concession 4 in the former Brant Township to Morry’s Trailer Sales on Sideroad 25 between 5:25 pm and 6:15 pm.
Officers would also like to speak with anyone who saw a white male, early 30’s, wearing a dark coloured ball cap who was picked up by a vehicle on Bruce Road # 4 near Davis Hill Nursery during that same timeframe.
Hanover Police investigators are also releasing that the registered owner of the PT Cruiser has been interviewed and is cooperating fully with the investigation. Although this person was the registered owner, they have never had care and control of this PT Cruiser since it was purchased.
The Hanover Police Service want to thank the public for their support knowing that every piece of information is helpful that can move this investigation forward. We continue to encourage this driver to surrender to the Hanover Police investigators and remind everyone that aiding this person in anyway can result in a criminal prosecution.
