On April 5, 2022, the Hanover Police Service started an investigation after determining their Station’s internet lines were cut causing a loss of internet to the Police Station and a neighbouring business. It was also determined a suspect attempted to force entry into the Station using brute force and a prying tool.
As a result of the investigation, the Hanover Police Service has arrested a 38-year-old Hanover man for Attempted Break and Enter, Mischief Under $5000 x 2 and Breach of Probation. The suspect was later released from custody on bail conditions with a court date.
Although emergency policing operations were not impacted by the actions of this accused, the Service is currently reviewing security vulnerabilities and safety procedures in an effort to prevent further attacks.
