The Municipality of Grey Highlands is inviting the public to attend an information session regarding the completed Recreation Master Plan developed by RC Strategies.
The session will take place on Tuesday, October 4, from 6-9 pm at the Flesherton Kinplex.
The Recreation Master Plan contains a recommended vision and guiding principles as the foundation for parks and recreation service delivery and infrastructure investment in Grey Highlands. The Municipality is currently responsible for operating and maintaining four arenas, seven community halls, 12 sports fields and 13 public parks and playgrounds.
"The Plan is quite extensive, containing a total of 37 recommendations around indoor recreation facilities, outdoor recreation and parklands, and service delivery," says Director of Economic and Community Development Michele Harris. "This open house-style session will allow residents to meet the consultant, ask questions, and gain further insight into the Plan."
Extensive public consultation took place via community-based conversations, online stakeholder sessions, and public surveys. Public input was invited throughout the process, and residents' written feedback was shared with the consultants. Grey Highlands Council received the Recreation Master Plan for information on August 3, 2022.
Questions for the consultant can be sent before the meeting to facilities@greyhighlands.ca or 519-986-1216 x 109.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
