Grey Highlands Home and Garden Show this weekend!

Grey Highlands Home and garden Show 2022

SOUTHGREY.CA STAFF — In the Spring of 2018, the Grey Highlands Home and Cottage Show was born. Organized by the Municipality of Grey Highlands, the event was staged in the Flesherton and District Community Centre, Arena and Kinplex. The show was a big success and plans were underway to continue with the event annually. But like many events across the region, COVID-19 disrupted best laid plans. The Home Show was unfortunately cancelled for 2020 and then again in 2021.

Enter 2022 and the lifting of restrictions to social gathering and capacity levels for indoor facilities and the idea to resurrect this showcase event was championed by the Grey Highlands Chamber of Commerce. A newly-struck partnership with the municipality was formed and the Grey Highlands Home and Garden Show (new name) was announced for the weekend of April 30-May 1.

Eager to promote local talents, the show will feature Grey Highlands and area businesses, interactive displays and children’s programs. Over 100 vendors are expected including local trades, service providers and related businesses.

New for this year, enter to win a Home and Backyard Prize Package. The grand prize is valued at over $3,000 and growing. The package, thanks to local sponsors, includes:

  • Patio heater, outdoor beverage bar, and patio lights (courtesy of Sea & Ski Realty)
  • Outdoor security camera with installation in Grey or Bruce plus one year of cloud storage and alarm.com video service (courtesy of Connected Solutions)
  • Lighting consultation with a professional lighting designer (courtesy of EVO Electrical Contracting)
  • One-year internet plan, including installation in local service area (courtesy of RuralNet)

Prizes will be on display near the Grey Highlands Chamber of Commerce booth.

Pick up your 'prize passport' at the show entrance or, while you’re enjoying the show, at the Chamber booth, for only $2. Visit the booths identified in the passport for a stamp, and deposit your completed entry in the drum at the Chamber booth. The winner will be drawn at the close of the show on Sunday.

Visit many booths within the arena or browse local vendors of the Flesherton and District Farmers' Market as they take over the Kinplex for both days.

Enjoy many speakers and workshops on the main stage. Topics will include design, plants and gardening to attract pollinators and birds. Kids will have fun exploring sensory bins, decorating their own flower pot, planting a violet to take home or learning about honeybees and why they are so important. A schedule will be posted at the main stage.

Sunday, May 1 is First Responders Day. The Grey highlands Fire Department and OPP will be on hand to meet people and show off their vehicles and equipment.

Admittance to the show is free. The event will run from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday. For more information about the show or to view a full list of vendors, visit the Grey Highlands Home and Garden Show website.

See you at the Grey Highlands Home and Garden Show 2022!
