An individual from Oakville is facing multiple charges following multiple driving complaints in Grey Highlands.
On August 19, 2025, at approximately 7:02 pm, members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to multiple traffic complaints regarding a silver sedan travelling northbound on Highway 10 in Flesherton and Markdale. Witnesses reported the vehicle was operating at excessive speeds, making unsafe passes, and failing to maintain its lane.
Shortly after, officers located the vehicle at a gas station in Markdale. Upon arrival, police observed the vehicle driving erratically, including swerving and accelerating aggressively into traffic.
Officers attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Police later located the vehicle parked on Main Street West in Markdale.
Following an investigation, the driver was identified and placed under arrest.
A 25-year-old, of Oakville, has been charged with the following offences:
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 18, 2025.
