electHER Now is a non-partisan volunteer organization determined to achieve sustainable gender balance of elected municipal officials in Grey Bruce.

If you have considered meditation to increase focus and clarity in your community life, electHer NOW’s next event could be for you!

Your Mindful Municipal Life - Mix & Mingle will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Launch Pad Skills Training & Technical Centre in Hanover.

"We recognize that our municipal leaders give tremendous time and energy to their communities. So, as part of electHER Now’s strategy to support elected women to thrive in office, this event will bring together elected women and aspiring political candidates for an afternoon of yoga, meditation, and networking to support self-care and well-being," says Beth Hamilton, electHER Now Planning Team member and event organizer.

Certified Yoga Teacher Melanie Subject will lead a session of chair yoga and meditation activities, with the opportunity for attendees to network and connect with one another. Comfortable clothing is encouraged and no special equipment is required.

Networking events are one way electHER Now, a non-partisan volunteer organization, is working to achieve sustainable gender balance of elected municipal officials in Grey Bruce. They provide a chance for elected officials to get to know one another and develop supportive relationships, which in turn can lead to a more positive council experience.

Tickets are available on a 'Pay What You Can' basis online at electhernow.ca/events.

electHER is led by women and supporters with current and past political experience willing to work hard to achieve this shared vision. More information about electHER Now can be found at https://www.electhernow.ca/ or on Facebook and Instagram.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
