Charges laid after two separate domestic disputes in the Township of Southgate and Chatsworth

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged several individuals following domestic disputes over the weekend.

On February 10, 2023, at 8:30 am, The Grey Bruce OPP responded to a domestic dispute in the Township of Southgate. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that all involved parties had committed criminal offences.

The Grey Bruce OPP charged a 34-year-old accused with one count of assault, and a 28-year-old accused with one count of mischief. Both parties were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

On the same date at 10:46 am, The Grey Bruce OPP responded to a second domestic occurrence in the Township of Chatsworth. As a result of this investigation, a 32-year-old accused was charged with assault and mischief. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

On February 12, 2022, at 8:03 pm, The Grey Bruce OPP responded to a report of an assault in the Township of Southgate. A 31-year-old accused was placed under arrest and charged with the following offences:

  • Assault (two counts)
  • Failure to comply with undertaking (two counts)
  • Failure to comply with release order

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
