There is so much to do this summer at your local library! Pick up a book, win a prize, attend a free program, and connect with your community.
Reading does not stop at the end of the school year, and neither do free community programs. Celebrate summer this year at the Grey Highlands Public Library!
TD Summer Reading Club: Get Your Summer Read On! Get ready for Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, all interests, and all abilities! The TD Summer Reading Club is a free program that celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators, and stories, and is designed to inspire kids to explore the fun of reading their way — the key to building a lifelong love of reading.
Kids (and their caregivers) can participate anytime, anywhere — at local public libraries across Canada as well as at home, online, on the road, or wherever their summer takes them. Participants explore recommended reads; track their own reading; connect and share with others across the country; read books online; join in activities; collect reading incentives; write jokes, stories, and book reviews, and more. There are great resources for kids with print disabilities as well as for pre-readers and their families. Sign up to receive a free notebook to track your reading accomplishments and stop by the Library in July for a chance to win prizes.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
