At the final Regular Meeting of the Board of the 2024-2025 school year on Tuesday, June 17, Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) celebrated a group of distinguished community members for their outstanding contributions in our local schools.
Family members, staff, and other supporters visited the BWDSB Education Centre to observe the annual presentation of the Awards of Excellence, recognizing the extraordinary efforts and contributions of an individual from each ‘family of schools’ within the district.
Trustees took turns at the podium presenting the awards, which highlighted a range of exceptional volunteer efforts supporting breakfast and nutrition programs, school events, fundraising, field trips, well-being initiatives, and classroom learning, among others.
Since recognizing every individual who contributes to our schools is an impossible task, the Awards of Excellence program offers just a glimpse of the many wonderful volunteers in BWDSB. Nominations of individuals may be submitted by any group or individual within the recipient’s family of schools through the school principal.
Congratulations to the following 2025 Awards of Excellence recipients:
At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
