Brightshores Health System welcomes four new members to their Board of Directors, each bringing expertise and experience that will support the hospital corporation as they continue their journey to becoming a more integrated regional health system.

“The Board plays a vital role in guiding Brightshores through a time of significant change and opportunity in healthcare,” said Deborah Pope, Board Chair. “Our new members bring a wide range of skills, experience and insight that will strengthen our ability

to make informed, community-focused decisions. Their contributions will be key as we work to enhance care and build a more connected system for patients and families across Grey Bruce.”

Board Directors:

  • Ian Scarlett, an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with IT experience in the healthcare environment.
  • Linda MacLeod, a seasoned leader in healthcare who has held positions including Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital.

Ex-officio members:

  • Dr. Todd Webster, the newly appointed Medical President, Urban. Dr. Webster brings clinical insight and physician leadership to the Board as part of his role representing Brightshores’ medical staff.
  • Laurel Silenzi, a Patient Advisor. She has a professional background in nursing and brings her clinical insight and lived experience to her role as a volunteer at the Southampton and Owen Sound hospitals.

Brightshores expressed thanks to their outgoing Board Directors Joanne Flewwelling, Past Chair; Martha Rogers, Director; Dr. Eric Brown, Medical President, Urban; and Grace Clarke, Patient Advisor, who volunteered their time and expertise to support excellence in rural healthcare.

“The dedication and vision of the outgoing Board members have been instrumental in shaping Brightshores into the organization it is today,” said Ann Ford, President & CEO. “Strong, thoughtful governance is critical as we continue to evolve. These new appointments bring valuable expertise and perspectives that will help guide our future and ensure we remain responsive to the growing and changing needs of the people we serve.”

The appointments took effect June 25, 2025, following the Board’s Annual Meeting.
