SPONSORED CONTENT — You may remember Bella, the October 4, 2021 adoption of the week. Bella was actually adopted back then, but sadly, she did not get along with the family cat. In the best interest of both animals, Bella has come back to the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter (GBAS). This cute little puggle (Beagle Pug X) is 6 years-old, spayed, up-to-date with her shots and ready to try again. As mentioned, Bella does not like cats, and does best on her own so a quiet home where she can be the only pet is where Bella will shine! To meet Bella, call the shelter at 519-372-1911.
During the COVID-19 crisis, people are working at the shelter to care for the animals but they are limiting the numbers of volunteers and restricting general public visits. GBAS serves the residents of both Grey and Bruce Counties who can no longer care for their own pet cats and dogs. The shelter minimizes the time that surrendered pets spend at the shelter by consistently matching animals with suitable new homes.
Largely volunteer-based, the shelter receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
