Adoption of the week: meet Timber

Adoption of the week: meet Timber

SPONSORED CONTENT — Meet Timber. He was a little shy for the first photo-op but now, he is ready to join his sister/cousin, Sherri...looking for a new home. Timber is an approximate 3 year-old, shepherd/lab/dobbie cross. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. He is nervous but putting on a brave face as he explores the world. He came from a hoarding situation and never had much exposure outside of his home. Because he's nervous, he'll do best in a quiet home, perhaps with a confident furry friend to show him the ropes. Timber is not recommended for a home with small children. He is active when he is relaxed, so as he gets more comfortable, he will need activity. He is starting to really enjoy his walks and playtime with the volunteers, so would likely be a great jogging/hiking companion. Call 519-372-1911 for an appointment to meet Timber.

During the COVID-19 crisis, people are working at the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter to care for the animals but they are limiting the numbers of volunteers and restricting general public visits. GBAS serves the residents of both Grey and Bruce Counties who can no longer care for their own pet cats and dogs. The shelter minimizes the time that surrendered pets spend at the shelter by consistently matching animals with suitable new homes.

Largely volunteer-based, the animal shelter receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
