SPONSORED CONTENT — Meet Momma. This tabby girl is approximately 5-years-old. She came to the shelter as a semi-feral cat and was a wet nurse to 13 kittens who all thrived under her care. Volunteers were pretty sure at least some of the kittens were her litter. The rest came in from the same source but she was the only Mom that could be caught and she valiantly rose to the task. The kittens have all found homes now and while Momma tolerates the indoor life, it's clear she would rather spend more time outdoors and hunting. Shelter staff think she would do well in a barn or shop environment with a job to do, a comfortable, warm place to sleep and people she can approach on her own terms. Momma has been spayed and vaccinated and is ready to find a home. Please call the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter (GBAS) at 519-372-1911 for an appointment to meet Momma.
Largely volunteer-based, the GBAS receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.
Although COVID-19 protocols have been relaxed, the GBAS is continuing to arrange animal visits by appointment. It allows volunteers/staff to spend enough time with prospective adopters as well as people surrendering animals. Face masks are optional.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
