SPONSORED CONTENT — Meet Marsha. This lovely 5-year-old grey and white domestic short haired girl came to Grey Bruce Animal Shelter (GBAS) as her owners had some lifestyle changes and were not able to keep her. She is currently our greeter at the shelter. She came to us with her buddy Sydney, our little blind diabetic dog who is also still looking for a home, as well. Marsha is such a sweet girl and looooves attention and pats so much that it was almost impossible to get a picture of her as she wouldn't stop rubbing her face on the camera! She has been with small dogs but isn't keen on other cats in the home. Marsha would love to meet potential adopters! Book your appointment by calling the shelter 519-372-1911.
During the COVID-19 crisis, people are working at the GBAS to care for the animals but they are limiting the numbers of volunteers and restricting general public visits. GBAS serves the residents of both Grey and Bruce Counties who can no longer care for their own pet cats and dogs. The shelter minimizes the time that surrendered pets spend at the shelter by consistently matching animals with suitable new homes.
Largely volunteer-based, the animal shelter receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
