SPONSORED CONTENT — Meet Harley. She's a 3-year-old German Shepherd/BoarderCollie/Lab mix. She is slow to warm up to new people and can be growly at first, but is affectionate once she knows you. Harley is spayed and up-to-date with shots and ready to find her forever home. Harley is an active girl. She gets along with some dogs, but not recommended for a home with cats, though. For an appointment to meet Harley, call the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter (GBAS) at 519-372-1911.
During the COVID-19 crisis, people are working at the GBAS to care for the animals but they are limiting the numbers of volunteers and restricting general public visits. GBAS serves the residents of both Grey and Bruce Counties who can no longer care for their own pet cats and dogs. The shelter minimizes the time that surrendered pets spend at the shelter by consistently matching animals with suitable new homes.
Largely volunteer-based, the animal shelter receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
