SPONSORED CONTENT — Meet Ernie. Sadly his adoption didn't work out through no fault of Ernie. He is now back with us. Ernie is an active Aussie-Doodle puppy, (Australian Shepherd-Poodle Cross) with special needs. He is 6 months old. He's been vet checked, vaccinated and neutered and he's now looking for a home. He will grow into a medium-sized dog, the size of a standard Aussie or Border Collie. He will require professional clipping/grooming every 4-6 weeks as well. Ernie was born blind and deaf/severely hearing impaired and so will require a special home where he can receive the special training and safe environment he requires in order to learn to be a dog. He is a bold little explorer and plays happily with his litter mates. He would do well with a calm older dog to help him navigate the world. Note: regular fees apply. Please call the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter (GBAS) at 519 372-1911 for an appointment to meet this sweet pup. Learn more about adopting a dog on the GBAS website.
Largely volunteer-based, the GBAS receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.
Although COVID-19 protocols have been relaxed, the GBAS is continuing to arrange animal visits by appointment. It allows volunteers/staff to spend enough time with prospective adopters as well as people surrendering animals. Face masks are optional.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
