SPONSORED CONTENT — Meet Cubby. She's a lovely six-month-old light coloured Siamese. She's very friendly and has a lovely soft, medium-length coat. She's up-to-date on shots and due to be spayed. Please call the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter (GBAS) at 519 372-1911 for an appointment to meet this lovely girl.
Largely volunteer-based, the GBAS receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.
Although COVID-19 protocols have been relaxed, the GBAS is continuing to arrange animal visits by appointment. It allows volunteers/staff to spend enough time with prospective adopters as well as people surrendering animals. Face masks are optional.
For further information regarding surrenders, adoptions, donations and volunteering, please visit us at grey-bruceanimalshelter.com or Facebook at Friends of the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter or Instagram at Grey Bruce Animal Shelter.
If you want to support local pet rescues while getting a little something for yourself in return, The Shelter Funder boasts a variety of gems and jewellery, including rings, earrings and pendants as well as original artwork and signed prints. A gemologist and art lover for decades, Grey Highlands resident Barry Tuddenham is selling off all his stock and using the profits to help causes that are important to him, including several pet rescues and humanitarian organizations.
The retired gem stone buyer has also launched an online auction service but he cautions visitors to learn how it works before bidding.
At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
