Pet adoption of the week: meet Anja, German Shepherd mix

Pet adoption of the week: meet Anja, German Shepherd mix

SPONSORED CONTENT — This gorgeous girl is Anja! She's been at the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter (GBAS) for a little while and is still waiting to meet her perfect match. She's a two year old German Shepherd mix, spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations.

Anja is dreaming of an active person or family who can keep up with her high energy, smarts, and desire to be busy! She's become a good running buddy for some of the shelter volunteers, though she gets a little excited at cars still. She also 'loves' to work for her dinner with a good stuffed Kong toy!

She can be a little nervous with new people at first, but she comes around quickly and then is a real sweetheart. No cats for Anja, please, and probably no other dogs — she can be picky with her dog friends. She would best with no small children, but older dog savvy children should be just fine.

Breed experience would be a bonus for this girl. If you think Anja is the one for you, give the GBAS a call at 519-372-1911.

Largely volunteer-based, the GBAS receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.

Although COVID-19 protocols have been relaxed, the GBAS is continuing to arrange animal visits by appointment. It allows volunteers/staff to spend enough time with prospective adopters as well as people surrendering animals. Face masks are optional.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
