road construction keep left signs

The 2022 construction season is here, and Grey County is making a number of investments into county roads through construction and resurfacing, bridge rehabilitation and surface repairs.

Planned Projects

  • Grey Road 2 Rehabilitation – Work is scheduled from May 2 to July 22 from the intersection of Grey Road 119 south to the intersection of Grey Road 19. This project will include alternating lane closures at times.
  • Grey Road 31 Overlay – Work is scheduled from June 6 to July 8 from the intersection of Grey Road 2 east through Rob Roy to Simcoe Road 91. This project will include alternating lane closures at times.
  • Grey Road 13 (Beaver Valley Road) Pulverize and Pave – Work is scheduled from June 11 to August 26 from the Beaver River Bridge north to the 10th line Clarksburg. This project will include alternating lane closures at times.
  • Grey Road 15 Rehabilitation – Work is scheduled for the summer and fall of 2022. The project will run from 3rd Ave. East in Owen Sound to 600 metres north of 32nd Street East. This project will include alternating lane closures at times.
  • Grey Road 10 Grind and Pave – Work is scheduled from May 23 to June 10 from the south limit of Elmwood to the north limit of Elmwood. This project will include alternating lane closures at times.
  • Grey Road 8 Overlay – Work is scheduled from June 11 to August 19 from Highway 89 north to Grey Road 9. This project will include alternating lane closures at times.
  • Grey Road 9 Structure Replacement – Work is scheduled from July 18 to September 9 at the location east of Ayton, just before Sideroad 25. This project will include a road closure and a detour will be posted.

Planned construction dates are a best estimate. Projects may be impacted by weather conditions and other delays.

Be sure to plan your routes and allow yourself extra time to safely reach your destination if traveling through a planned construction zone. Always pay attention to signage and be extra cautious in areas of active construction when workers are present.

Grey County follows an asset management plan to help determine which road projects to invest in each year. Decisions are based on several factors, including condition rating and estimated lifespan. A 10-year construction and resurfacing map can be found online at www.grey.ca/roads.
