On May 21 POLICE and MNRF Conservation Officers on plainclothes patrol found two males fishing in the Saugeen River. Investigation revealed that neither male possessed a valid fishing licence. Further one of the males was found in possession of open alcohol. Both males were charged pursuant to the Ontario Fishery Regulations and the Liquor Licence Act. POLICE and MNRF officers will be conducting enhanced patrols of West Grey during 2017.

On May 22 POLICE interdicted an impaired driver operating a vehicle on Grey County #4. The female driver was subsequently charged with operation of a motor vehicle with over 80mgs of alcohol in 100 mls of blood and further charged with a G2 driver alcohol offence. POLICE would like to remind young persons that up until your 22 birthday you CANNOT consume ANY alcohol and drive a motor vehicle regardless of what class driver’s licence you possess.

On May 24 POLICE were called to investigate two break and enters that had occurred in the Town of Durham and in Normanby Tp. A chainsaw was taken from an unlocked garage at one of the locations. POLICE are again reminding the public that thieves are preying upon those who leave their cars, outbuildings and attached garages open.

On May 28 POLICE were called to a highway in Normanby Tp regarding an intoxicated male who was walking along the side of the road. Luckily for the male a sober friend arrived and took custody of the male saving him from a night in jail and a court appearance.
