Suspicious Male Arrested in Hanover’s Industrial Park and charged with Robbery

FROM A DECEMBER 9 HANOVER POLICE MEDIA RELEASE — On Sunday, December 8th at approximately 8:30 p.m. a member of the Hanover Police Service located a suspicious male in Hanover’s Industrial Park wearing a bandana covering his face.  The suspect was wanted in connection with a street robbery in the Downtown Core of Hanover, where a victim had their cell phone and other items stolen during an early morning “mugging” on September 25th.   

During the suspect’s arrest, officers discovered several break-in tools, methamphetamine, ammunition while prohibited and other items in his possession.

A second male suspect, who is currently in custody on other unrelated criminal matters, will face additional charges related to the same street robbery investigation. 

The Hanover Police Service has charged the 30-year-old man of No Fixed Address with the following charges:

1. Robbery 
2. Wearing a Disguise 
3. Theft Under $5000
4. Possession of Stolen Property
5. Uttering a Forged Document
6. Fraud Under $5,000
7. Possession of Break-in Instruments
8. Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine
9. Possession of Ammunition while Prohibited.
10. Breach of Probation

The suspect remains in police custody and will appear in Walkerton Bail Court on December 9th to answer to his charges. The investigation remains active and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Hanover Police Service or Crimestoppers.
