SUBMITTED CONTENT — Chatsworth, ON – With over 20 years of experience in web and graphic design, social media engagement, communications and community development, Oaktree Media’s Kelly Smith has worked across many sectors and with organizations, large and small. Recently relocated to Holland Centre from Guelph, she’s looking forward to connecting with local businesses and non-profits in the area.
Smith and her family hunted for the perfect place to run their two home-based businesses and be closer to nature. They fell in love with their current location because of the proximity to city centres while still being in a rural area.
“The novelty of living in cottage country definitely hasn’t worn off yet,” jokes Smith. “As we are seeing summer quickly turning into fall, I’m starting to really feel settled in and I’m ready to get to work. I’m so excited to be living and working in Grey County and am looking forward to meeting new clients to support!”
What sets Smith’s services apart from those you could piece together on your own is summed up in one word: customization. Specializing in designing and programming for non-profits and community groups, Smith brings a deep knowledge of the specific needs of those sectors to her work and can solve problems common to those services based on years of experience.
“Many of my clients have needed an online tool to do one thing that is really critical to their work. There are so many options for self-serve website solutions but they often don’t meet the specific needs of the client,” says Smith. “My passion is in working with non-profits and small businesses. Building relationships with my clients is at the core of my work and I deeply understand the needs and challenges they face in serving their stakeholders well and with ease. If I can make their jobs easier with good frontline online tools, then I’ve done my work,” says Smith.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a modest donation and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
