Nereda Manion loves living in Grey Bruce and wants to support local businesses.
Manion is the owner of Ask Nereda First, a mortgage agent who just recently opened an office in Durham, Ontario just one month before businesses were ordered to close to the public due to COVID-19.
Manion thought about how she could help businesses in Grey Bruce that have been forced to scale back or close their doors completely. "I thought it would be fun to spread a little love", said Manion.
The general public can sign up to win a gift card from a local business that has been affected by COVID-19 or they can nominate local businesses that has been affected. It's called the Love-19 Challenge. The only stipulation is that nominations should be a business in Grey Bruce.
Gift cards will be purchased from 19 businesses taken from the nomination list by donation by Real Estate leaders. 19 winners will get one gift card to be used at a local business.
The first gift card giveaway is for Riverwood Gardens, located between Hanover and Durham. They specialize in newer ornamental plants to help your garden stand out.
The winner will be announced on Wednesday May 13, 2020 on Ask Nereda First's Facebook page.
Ryan Enright Financial Advisor of The Co-operators of Hanover/Durham partnered with Manion on this giveaway.
This is a chance to support some of the local businesses that have been be affected by COVID-19.
Many businesses were forced to close temporarily to the public and operate through online methods on Mar 15, 2020.
Visit Love-19 Challenge to nominate a business or to sign up to win.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
