October 29, 2020, at 10:36 pm Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a brown pickup truck that was parked, with the vehicle running in the live traffic lane on Sideroad 30, near Highway 10, in the Township of Chatsworth.
OPP officers spoke with the driver, who displayed obvious signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment in Chatsworth. A breath test, was conducted at the detachment, recorded readings over the legal limit of 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 28 year-old from Grey Highlands, ON, with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) and operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration 80 mgs or more, section 320.14(1)(b) CCC.
The accused's driver's license is suspended for 90 days and the vehicle they were operating was towed and impounded for seven days.
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on December 3, 2020.
