BY SOUTHGREY.CA STAFF — The holidays are a time generally spent with family. So it's no wonder that during this time, we miss our dearly-departed the most. According to the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Grey-Bruce, it can be overwhelming. The challenge becomes "how to navigate your way through the expectations of family and friends at a very emotional time in your life."
Deepening sadness and loneliness can often isolate people when everyone else seems to be in a celebratory mood. But by adopting some coping strategies, you need not cancel the holiday altogether.
Grief During the Holidays is a one hour community education session hosted by VON where the difficulties of the holiday season are acknowledged and coping strategies are shared to help you through this time.
