Grey Highlands’ realtor becomes President-Elect of provincial association

The Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) has announced the election of Grey Highlands-based real estate broker, Karen Cox as their 2018 President-Elect. Cox will also continue in the role of Provincial Director for Western Ontario REALTORS® on the OREA Board of Directors.

The Western area consists of the real estate boards of Chatham-Kent, Grey Bruce Owen Sound, Huron Perth, London and St Thomas, Sarnia-Lambton, Tillsonburg, Windsor-Essex County and Woodstock-Ingersoll. The announcement follows the association’s annual conference on February 27 to March 1, 2018 in Toronto.

“It’s exciting and an honour to represent the association as President-Elect,” said Cox. “Real estate is changing. OREA is committed to protecting the dream of home ownership for future generations and making sure our members are equipped for the modern real estate marketplace,” she added.

Active in real estate for 24 years, Cox is Broker of Record with Sea and Ski Realty Limited in Grey Highlands. She is a member of the REALTORS® Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound where she served as President in 2010 and 2015. Since 2007, Cox has served as Chair and member of various committees at both the local and provincial levels and currently serves as Chair of OREA’s Finance/Audit committee.

The Ontario Real Estate Association represents 70,000 brokers and salespeople who are members of the 38 real estate boards throughout the province.
