Grey County Economic Development follow up survey

Grey county economic development graphic

The following information and survey was sent out by Grey County Economic Development for businesses impacted by COVID-19.  If you are a business in Grey County and want your voice to be heard, please fill it out.

"Grey County, in partnership with our member municipalities and the Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus, has launched a follow up to our all-sector business impact survey of March 18. This second survey takes a deeper dive into understanding your current situation resulting from the global pandemic.

We would like to thank our business community for participating in the first Grey Business Survey. We received 318 responses, see the results here.

What did we do with these results?
  • Changed the information available on the Covid-19 Business Resource Page
  • Launched the Community & Business Resiliency map to help promote essential and non-essential businesses
  • Pushed the results to upper levels of government for use in program and policy development
What is in the works from the results?
  • The development of a call-in option for businesses looking for further guidance around government programs
  • Recovery planning – targeted marketing initiatives, grants through community improvement plans
  • We also received a clear mandate for recent tax and fee deferrals, which are being implemented locally.
All survey data will be kept confidential among economic development staff. Only the aggregated “roll up” results will be shared publicly with Council and upper levels of government.

Thank you for taking the time to share your insights and experiences with us so we can better assist you."

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a modest donation and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
