The Flesherton and District Farmers' Market wrapped up the summer season this Thanksgiving weekend on Saturday, October 6 with lots of fresh food, fun and a little horse named Ms. Stella Macaroni. Free coffee and cake as well as complimentary tea from local market vendor Tastea Treats were part of the end-of-season customer appreciation event.
Grey Highlands Council candidates attended to meet and greet residents leading up to the October 22 municipal election.
Kids could prepare their pumpkins and squashes for display at the decorating station.
Christine Sedore happily displayed her Rocky Hill Hideaway herb blends, salsas and jellies wearing her Autumn facinator.
Stella (or more formally, Ms. Stella Macaroni), the pony indicates her biased political leanings.
"We want to thank all of our customers for a great season," said Ron Barnett, manager of this year's market. "We really appreciate the support of our local community."
Soon the market will hold it's annual Christmas Market in the Flesherton Kinplex on Saturday, December 1 from 9 am to 2 pm. Many of your favourite summer vendors will be there with great holiday entertaining items, food and gift ideas. Come prepared to get all of your Christmas shopping done in one place. The Centre Grey Health Services Foundation will also be there to wrap your gifts for you.
For more information about the market, call Ron Barnett at 519-924-0777.
At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a modest donation and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
