SPONSORED CONTENT — Bo is a 7 year-old chocolate lab. He has a rare silver factored gene which dilutes his coat. He is good with people and would prefer a mature home. He is not good with other dogs, so would be best as a solo pet. He is a large, energetic dog and large dog/breed experienced owners would be suitable for him. He loves to play ball and he is crate-trained, keeping his pen clean. He also likes the water. He gets seasonal allergies and will need to take a bit of benedryl as needed.
Bo was briefly adopted but sadly, is back with us, through no fault of his own. His original description posted online with his picture indicated that he was not good with other dogs and this was stressed before approving the adoption. Yet, he was returned for precisely that reason. It is hard on these dogs to be back and forth like this. We hope he lands in a home that gives him the time and understanding he deserves. Please call 519-372-1911 and book an appointment if you are interested in this dog.
Appointments are mandatory. During the COVID-19 crisis, people are working at the shelter to care for the animals but they are limiting the numbers of volunteers and restricting general public visits.
GBAS serves the residents of both Grey and Bruce Counties who can no longer care for their own pet cats and dogs. The shelter minimizes the time that surrendered pets spend at the shelter by consistently matching animals with suitable new homes.
Largely volunteered based, the shelter receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a modest donation and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
