BY SOUTHGREY.CA STAFF –
Maintaining their commitment to keeping people and communities healthy, South East Grey Community Health Centre (SEGCHC) in Markdale has made a couple of new additions to their roster of free community programs this month.
Fridays 9:30 - 11:30 am
This program provides a time slot for community members to drop-in to use the newly renovated lower level of the CHC, called "The Well." While here, visitors can use the pool table, shuffle board, have a coffee, pull up a table and chair to knit, read a book or the local newspaper. Residents are urged to come on their own or bring friends. “The Well” is open and free for the community to use. Check the SEGCHC website for more information.
Mondays 3:30 - 4:30 pm
This new program allows participants to learn about managing and/or preventing high cholesterol, heart disease, high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, and/or weight management. Check the SEGCHC website for more information.
SEGCHC is located at 55 Victoria Street in Markdale.
For more information on these new programs or any other SEGCHC programs, please visit the SEGCHC program calendar.
At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.
South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
Please consider supporting South Grey News with a modest donation and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
