100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce proudly launched their 2025 giving season by presenting their largest donation to date — an impressive $33,200 — to Victim Services Bruce Grey. This organization supported over 1,400 individuals through crisis with trauma informed care and was selected by membership vote at the 100 Women Who Care April meeting.

“We are deeply honoured to receive this incredible support from 100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce,” said Jane Hartley, Executive Director of Victim Services Bruce Grey. “Their generosity will have a direct and lasting impact, allowing us to reach more victims and survivors across our communities with critical, compassionate care when it is needed most.”

Victim Services Bruce Grey provides immediate emotional and practical assistance to individuals affected by crime, tragic circumstances, and disaster throughout Bruce and Grey Counties. Their team of trained staff and community volunteers operates 24/7, working closely with police, fire, EMS, and other emergency services to support victims during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

In addition to crisis intervention and emotional support, the organization conducts needs assessments, safety planning, and referrals to long-term resources. They also administer emergency financial assistance through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services’ Victim Quick Response Program.

The generous donation from 100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce will help enhance Victim Service’s mobile trauma response service and expand outreach to ensure no victim is left without support. The organization continues to support a growing number of individuals with trauma-informed, culturally responsive care across both rural and urban communities.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
